Here are some quick breakdowns on what I've got there at Diigo:
appx. 3000 African
appx. 1500 African American
appx. 1000 Caribbean
appx. 1500 Native American (and that number is growing)
The stories are come from appx. 150 full-text online books, most of them public domain, along with a few CC-licensed items. Hathi Trust has been the key library resource for this project, and I have really enjoy the new features they rolled out just last month.
So, with all those bookmarks, Diigo lets me do all kinds of fun searches. For example, elephant tales; 133 of those. Or stories with elephant AND rabbit; 48 of those. And so on.
And for how Diigo is part of the pyramid of curation, check out this earlier post: HAX and the Curation Pyramid.
