Now that I've finished with that book, I have just a few stories to finish from Jones, and then I think I'll start in on the stories in Christensen next; I really want to have quick and easy access to those since they are prime sources that I want to use as I plan the book for next summer. Jones, Christensen, and Parsons: I feel very much indebted to all of them, and to their many storytellers.

Day 81: Barker-Sinclaire done
I finished doing the Barker-Sinclaire book of West African stories today... including the chain tale with a chain-of-blame / chain-of-debts that leads to the creation of mushrooms: How Mushrooms First Grew. When I was working on that chain tale project last summer, I kept reading how Africa was a great source for chain tales, but I didn't know how to look for the stories; now I have lots of places to look. I don't know when I'll get back around to working on chain tales, but someday I will. They are still one of my very favorite story types!
