Day 21: over 2000 tales!

Three weeks into the project seems like a good time to see how things are going... and I think they are going really well! Here are some numbers:

2012 stories at Diigo from 45 different books ... I'm thinking that reaching the 10,000 story goal might actually work out!

74 story summaries: I still haven't hit a good routine for doing the summaries yet, so that's a goal for next week; I still hope that I can get to 1500 story summaries by the end of the summer -- I'd surely like to have examples of all 400 of Parsons' Antilles story index available as summaries, plus the 185 Joel Chandler Harris stories

15 Harris stories with regularized spelling: This was the biggest success; I'm happy with the editorial strategy I'm using, and doing the stories is a lot of fun! I shouldn't have any trouble finishing all 185 Harris stories by the end of the summer.

51 resource books: I've also started typing up the tables-of-contents for the African American and African books in my personal library; I'm not sure when I'll start using stories from those books while I've got so much good public domain material, but at least I will have a good way to browse through the books to see what will be most useful.

By typing out the tables of contents, I learned that Adams's Congaree book has some rabbit tales!
